Tonofer+ is a supplement, that can be used to improve iron deficiency conditions due to disorders in which iron absorption
is limited (e.g. inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract), use of drugs, excessive “consumption” or losses of blood (e.g.
hemorrhages, long or heavy menstruation, stress from overtraining,…).
Tonofer +, The chelated iron (i.e. linked iron) by two glycine molecules (amino acid), is in a form that minimizes the disturbances the metal can cause to the mucosa.
Iron bisglycinate is characterized by a high bioavailability (80% absorption), that reduces the negative effects of iron at intestinal level.
Copper is the complementary metal to iron, its presence improves iron metabolism in the same way as urtica dioica does.
Vitamin C, contained in rose hip, helps maintain iron in the oxidation state 2+ (the bioavailable form of iron).
Moreover, vitamin B12 promotes iron processes and a correct shape of red blood cells.
Folic acid is useful as a cofactor of enzymatic functions where iron is involved.
Finally, lactobacillus acidophilus enhances iron absorption, by improving the intestinal eubiosis: it can be useful to prevent the imbalance, that iron supplements can cause
